Mrs. Kirkland's Reading RTI group performed their Halloween skit "Three Little Witches" to preschool and primary grades. The group has been working hard on reading clearly and at a good pace, using the right volume when speaking, and reading with expression to keep their audience's attention. NJHS will be at the Trunk or Treat at the high school on Friday at 5:30 pm, handing out books and candy. Come pick out a book! We have books for all kids ages 0 - 13.

Students in Mrs. McDaniel's 5th grade ELA classes completed their 1st quarter book projects. Each quarter of the year students are required to read a chapter book on their own. At the end of the quarter they work on a project in class to share what they read about. For this paper bag book project, students decorated each side of a brown paper lunch bag with a different story element. Then, they filled the inside of the bag with items that represent things in their book.

Kindergarten students in Mrs. Schneider's class learned about Christopher Columbus last week. Students got to participate in a STEM project, where they made boats out of the supplies given to them. The goal was that their boats would float! They did a great job working together and using their creative minds!
