Just before Christmas break, the junior high students did book buddy reading with preschool, kindergarten, first grade, and second grade. Some students were selected to read in the cafeteria igloo. It was a fun day of reading Christmas stories together.

Our January DEAR Event will take place on Wednesday, January 8th. This Event will be called “Snuggle Up With A Good Book.” Students and staff will stop everything and spend time reading on this day. Your child may wear school-appropriate pajamas and bring a small stuffed animal to snuggle with while reading. The stuffed animal MUST be able to fit inside your child’s bookbag. Encourage your child to participate to help us celebrate a love for reading!

After reading a story based on the artist Romare Bearden, Mrs. Vallejo's 4th graders created collages that represent who they are and what makes each of them unique. They wrote an explanatory essay telling what each image means to them. Putting each collage together in a quilt shows how we all make a beautiful work of art!
