During the Valentine's Day celebration, students in grades 3-5 participated in an exciting classroom rotation filled with festive activities. The highlight was the "Heart Hunt" challenge, where teams of students eagerly searched the hallways for hidden pink paper hearts. Each heart contained a special word, and students worked together, scanning walls, peeking around corners, and checking every nook and cranny. The energy was electric as teams raced to collect all the hearts and correctly identify each word. The first group to successfully complete their collection with all words verified earned the coveted title of Heart Hunt Champions.

🟢GIANTS IN THE CLASSROOM🟢
Lysol has developed 3 different kits to teach students all about microbes and healthy habits. First grade has taken this opportunity to participate. We are currently working on the second kit. So far students have learned that germs, good and bad, are everywhere. Each lesson provides an engaging comic to help kids understand healthy habits like washing their hands, catching their cough, and covering a sneeze. Each student received trading cards with various microbes. We talked about bacteria, viruses, and even protozoa. They were each able to create their own microbe trading card. The kids loved this. We had creative names like: The Destroyer, Bubbles, and Bob. They determined their location and super power. Many created good germs that would help.
We have also learned about the tiny size of these germs. They each became a "doctor" and scanned their patient using special transparency paper to identify and count the germs and antigens. They absolutely loved this. It seemed like "magic" when the germs would only appear with the red paper and not the blue.
Each time, they are so excited and want to know what we are doing next with our microbes. I'm excited to see what comes in our third and final kit.
