GIANT Pride goes out to this year's Scholastic Bowl Team for placing 2nd in their Regional Competition in Mazon, IL on Wednesday night! They rocked it and deserve a GIANT pat on the back! Way to go team!

Our May DEAR Event will take place Wednesday, May 6th. This
event will be called “Meet on the Lawn to Read.” Students and
staff will stop everything and spend time OUTSIDE and
TOGETHER reading from 2:20-2:40.

Your child may wear a hat to shade their eyes from the sun during
this DEAR time. Students may also bring a beach towel to sit on
while reading. Encourage your child to participate to help us
celebrate a love for reading!

Nuestro evento de mayo de DEAR se llevará a cabo el miércoles 6 de mayo. Este evento se llamará “Encuentro en el Jardín para Leer”. Los estudiantes y el personal dejarán todo lo que estén haciendo y pasarán tiempo al aire libre, leyendo juntos, de 2:20 a 2:40 p. m.

Su hijo/a puede usar un sombrero para protegerse del sol durante este tiempo de DEAR. Los estudiantes también pueden traer una toalla de playa para sentarse mientras leen. ¡Anime a su hijo/a a participar para que podamos celebrar el amor por la lectura!

Congratulations to 8th grade boys basketball coach Marsheko Grampton on winning Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) Coach of the year! Winning the award for the second-consecutive year, Grampton guided SAGS to a second-straight trip to the IESA Class 1A boys basketball state finals in February. Way to go coach! Way to represent St. Anne! #TheSAGSway

On Monday the Kiwanis Club of Kankakee annual Student Achievement Awards and luncheon was held. Jonathan Martinez was awarded the 2026 Kiwanis 8th Grade Student Achievement Award. Also in attendance was the Lorenzo Smith 8th grade recipient , Leairius Lillard. #TheSAGSway

🟢GIANTS IN THE CLASSROOM🟢 For Earth Day, all 3rd graders went over to SACHS greenhouse to meet with Mrs. Caise and her Ag Business students. The students learned about a variety of plants and flowers within the greenhouse and were able to take their own plant home with them! #TheSAGSway

🟢GIANTS IN THE CLASSROOM🟢 Once a month, Mrs. Arthur's Kindergarten class and Mrs. McDaniel's 5th grade class get together for DEAR time. Students get in groups and the 5th graders read to the Kindergarteners. Students have enjoyed getting to know each other this year and building their reading skills together! #TheSAGSway

Congrats to Dianne Perez and Kendall Sparenberg on their hard work this season for the Kan-Will Spelling Contest!! They placed 6th overall as a team and Kendall placed 4th overall out of 38 competitors! GIANT high fives for the two of them!

Soccer Location & Time Change:
Tonight's soccer match will be played on the SACHS Turf field with kick-off at 5:15 PM. If you were planning on attending, please plan accordingly.

We are down to the final week in the Belson Steel Center "SCORE" program. Help St. Anne Grade School stay on top by bringing your cans to Belson's and mentioning St. Anne Grade School. This Friday and Saturday, they will bump up the price of cans in honor of Earth Day. Saturday, April 18th, is the final day. Go St. Anne!! #TheSAGSway

🟢GIANTS IN THE CLASSROOM🟢 The SAGS Girls on the Run team is working hard and enjoying a great start to the season. This amazing program combines lessons about things like positive self-talk, sticking to things when they get hard, and celebrating things that make us unique, while also incorporating movement into every practice. At the end of the season, the girls will head to Chicago and run a 5k with GOTR teams from all over the Chicago area. As our team cheer says: Girls on the Run is so much fun! #TheSAGSway

🟢GIANTS IN THE CLASSROOM🟢 Kindergarten added a sprinkle of sunshine to their DEAR time last week. Mrs. Schneider's class enjoyed the nice weather while reading a book outside on a beautiful day! 70 degrees, a good book, and friends..Kindergarten life is good! #TheSAGSway

🟢GIANTS IN THE CLASSROOM🟢 Before IAR testing started last week, 5th graders wrote letters of encouragement to each other. Each student was given a name of a classmate and wrote a letter to cheer them on before their test. The letters were on their desk in the morning before one of their tests. #TheSAGSway
