Over Thanksgiving break, SACHS English teacher Mrs. Baer went to the annual ALAN conference in Boston, Mass. The ALAN conference celebrates young adult literature through panel presentations. This year, there were about 75 authors in residence leading two full days of panels where they talked about their books and how to use them in the classroom. Mrs. Baer gave a speech presenting an award, volunteered at the author meet and greet, and was the chair of the Konigsberg Award committee. She also brought back around 40 books for our St. Anne High School students, further expanding the library. Pictured are some of the books, as well as students from her Honors English 11 class enjoying the new selections!
In exciting things to come, Mrs. Baer will be assisting in planning the national conference for next year, as well as being nominated to the ALAN Board of Directors for the future!

During halftime of all home boys basketball games, we will have a cage-the-cardinal fundraiser. Fans will purchase rubber ducks with an objective of tossing them out to center court, where there will be a cage placed.
If your duck is the closest to the cage, you will win a gift certificate. If you make it into the cage, then you will receive $40 cash.
All proceeds from duck purchases will go to the boys basketball program at SACHS.
